As of late

Hey guys, thanks for looking!! So I thought I would fill you all in on some of the pieces I've been working on lately, so here goes!
This first one is part of a sleeve I am working on at the moment, its way outside my comfort zone as far as what I am used to doing but it has been really fun..
This one is the first session of the skeleton mariachi band leg sleeve I am working on, really looking forward to doing more on this, we are adding a bass player, violin player, couple of skeletons on the maracas, and a skeleton bandito dancing with a beautiful senorita as the main feature on the outside of his thigh.
This Superman piece was done on the apprentice at blue lotus, Adam Coolio. We recorded the whole tattoo and are in the process of editing the footage and are hoping to make a short DVD out of what we captured but we will see..
and this last one is a New York sleeve I am working on!! I am very exited about this one, so much detail... but it will be worth the time we put in!!
Well thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed the pictures, I look forward to starting your tattoo soon! hahaha...

My guest spot at Epic Ink in Christchurch.

So the family and I headed down to Christchurch a few weeks ago to catch up on all my ongoing work and to see our friends and family.
I had an awesome time hanging out with the crew at Epic Ink. It was really great to work with Mike Slade from Ink Grave again, Jase and Tina Parkinson, the owners were very hospitable and lovely people, really made me feel welcome there and Frankie Mackie is a really promising up and comer in the tattoo industry of New Zealand.
Best part was I got to tattoo some of my favourite customers while i was there, resulting in some really cool pieces, here are a few photos.
Frankenstein on my good mate Kahn's leg.
This is the second session on Joel's "tiger vs dragon" sleeve.
Dude welding on Chris's inner bicep.
Pulp Fiction piece on Shane's leg.
Me tattooing Joel, he sat for 7 hours.. legend.
Close-up of Joel's hand so far.

All in all an awesome week, big thank you to Jase, Tina, Mike and Frankie at Epic Ink for having me, you guys are awesome!

September already?!

http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/jay-silent-bob-get-jobs-thursday/id436921766?i=94368985

Check this out: May 26th, on Jay & Silent Bob Get Jobs, an insanely cool live read commercial for Seppuku Tattoo! The read starts at 12:40, runs until 25:40, & then is mentioned in call backs & follow up jokes throughout the show! Nothing is cooler than listening to Jason Mewes scream, "Seppuku,... fuck you up!!"

Our first guest artist: Josh Fields!

We've been wondering whether or not our rural riverside location would be a good destination spot for traveling guest artists. After our success with the Chris Dingwell seminar, it would seem yes! So Matt & Johnny are opening the doors to artists traveling through the tri-state area from cross country or overseas to crash at the shop & spend some time tattooing & getting tattooed. Because we like getting nice work as well, & we never have time to tattoo ourselves. ;)

September 22 through the 27th, we'll be hosting the amazing Josh Fields from The Platinum Rose Studio  in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Josh is a fourteen year veteran tattoo artist, an accomplished fine artist & oil painter, and his work has appeared in dozens of magazines and publications, as well as gallery shows. You'll see his fine art training evident in his tattoos, which look like museum pieces.

A lot of spots are already filled as I write this, so call the studio & check for availabilities.

Our website is about a year behind as far as updates, new art, & new publications. Sorry about that. We've been working six days a week for fourteen straight months, & the workload doesn't allow much time for things as time consuming as new web design. We will get to it, along with all our other plans for shop upgrades, including all the t shirt & sticker designs we have. Thanks for being understanding & dedicated!

Namaste!

TATTOOS BY FESTER JULY 22, 2011

Great flower, no doubt. Nice color, clean lines...

Fester is a champion...

Here's part of what went on today, the 22nd of July... Fester sitting on the other side of the room, was putting out some great sh*t. It's so private that sometimes, it seems that the only people that know what's going on on that side of the wall, are him, and God. Jesus Christ!! The things he does are so sinfully clean. Like this cross below. Perfect lines, Hell, only an antichrist like him could do stuff like this!!

Sometimes, people get all philosophical when getting tattooed... like "Everything happens for a reason".. same as "sh*t happens"... only "Everything happens for a reason" takes up most of the upper chest, "Sh*t happens" may only take up just the collar. Do you really think things happen for a reason? or is it more like there is a reason things happen? Or maybe it's the same...

Kids, flowers, flowers n kids. Kids should never put plastic wrap over their faces... unless they are a tattoo on someone's leg.. or maybe you just wanna put em to sleep for a while. Black n grey is so under rated... it's a real nice classy way to tattoo. Not too bold and way more depth and realism than the mediocre color pieces people do these days.

Can't believe July is almost over. Time flies when you do great work!!! Keep coming, this has been a great summer so far...
